We are getting enough members and submissions that developing more detailed rules are in order.

Submissions
The breakdown.

All submissions must be made to the correct folder. It is your responsibility to put them there. If you submit to the incorrect folder, your submission will be declined, but feel free to resubmit to the correct one.

All submissions must be related to Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert in some manner. If it is not apparent that the image is related in some way, your submission will be declined. If you are not sure that we will notice it is a correct submission, put a little blurb in the author's comments about the show or about Raimi/Tapert to help us out. Some lesser-known shows we might not know of.

If you aren't sure whether or not you can submit your artwork here, you may look at this list of acceptable fandoms raimi-tapert-fandom.deviantart… . And if that doesn't answer your question, send the group a note.

The types of work accepted are: traditional work, digital work, cosplay, 3-d modelling, writings, sculpture, and photomanipulation. If I missed something, send the group a note and ask.

A note on photomanipulations: there must be a noteable difference in the image to be accepted, otherwise it is copyright infringement and against dA's policy. Just taking an image and changing the color or levels is not an acceptable submission and will be declined.

No screenshots unless there is a noteable difference about how you changed it. Try to keep edited screenshots to a minimum. We want to see the art YOU created; not a screenshot you took from a show and put text on. Using screenshots from a copyrighted show can lead to lots of issues.

No tracing allowed. No copying allowed. When you use references, make sure you give note to them, otherwise you are stealing and that is also against dA's policy and generally is a morally bad thing. If you draw from an image as a reference, that is alright, just make sure you reference it and don't claim it as your own art. It is generally best if you can change something about the image rather than just copy it, as that is still viewed as stealing.

I try to keep an eye on the gallery as best as possible. If you see any images that are against dA's policy or our policy in the gallery, please let me know by note.

Any submissions that do not follow our guidelines or dA's guildlines and policies will be declined and/or removed from the gallery.

Any member that continually submits work against our guidelines or dA's guidelines will be warned and then if the behavior continues, removed from the group.

It is dangerous to both your account and the group to submit images that infringe copyright or steal from other artists. It is also a bad thing to do and can get you into lots of trouble. I'm not saying anyone in particular does this in the group. I am just trying to stop it before it happens.

Featured - You should never submit here. This is for special features and contest winners, etc. I will take care of that. :3 In fact, you shouldn't be able to submit here. If you are able to, tell me and I will fix that.

Legend of the Seeker - Fanart, fanfiction, and cosplay for this show goes here. Try to keep it related to Legend of the Seeker instead of just a fan shrine to certain actors/actresses. [I have decided about how the books relate to this yet... I know some people are big fans of the books, and so am I... but I'm leaning towards not accepting book-based submissions... questions/comments/suggestions???]

Xena - Fanart, fanfiction, and cosplay for this show goes here, including movies and other Xena type things that ensued because of the show. Try to keep it related to the Xena series instead of just a fan shrine to certain actors/actresses.

Hercules - Fanart, fanfiction, and cosplay for this show goes here, including movies and other Hercules type things that ensued because of the show, except Young Hercules. Try to keep it related to the Hercules series instead of just a fan shrine to certain actors/actresses.

Evil Dead - Fanart, fanfiction, and cosplay for the movies and relating games go here.

Spiderman - Fanart, fanfiction, and cosplay for the movies go here. This is a fine line to walk since Spidey is Marvel property and has tons of comic lines. Just keep his comic storylines out of the fanart that goes here and I think you'll be fine.

The Grudge - Fanart, fanfiction, and cosplay for the movies go here. This is another fine line because Raimi/Tapert didn't work on the Japanese version. Just keep to the Americanized version for your submissions, and if you have a question, note us.

Spartacus - Fanart, fanfiction, and cosplay for the tv series goes here.  Blood and Sand and the new one accepted. Try to keep it related to Spartacus instead of just a fan shrine to certain actors/actresses.

Crossover - This is a folder for universes that crossover. It can be a combination of Raimi/Tapert works or one related work and one unrelated work. For example, your image can be of Spiderman and the Grudge lady having tea together; or your image could be of Zedd crossdressing with Sailor Mars from Sailormoon. As long as the image has a tribute to Raimi/Tapert's works.

Other Fandoms - This folder is for fanfiction, fanart, and cosplay of other movies, video games, or series that Raimi and/or Tapert participated in some way (including directed, produced, acted in, or was a writer for). If it becomes such that the one of these fandoms has enough art for a folder, I will make it one.

Contest Entries - You will only post here during a contest. All contest entries must be submitted here to be accepted as an entry and voted on. This will be closed when a contest is not currently going or when voting/judging is going on.


FAQ
Q: Do you guys do any contests?
A: Yes, when we have the time and enough member involvement.

Q: Can I suggest contest themes?
A: Sure! We would love to hear them! Of course, they have to involve something relative to the group.

Q: What else does this group do?
A: Other than showcase member art, we try to get people involved. It's hard because everyone has busy lives, but we want to have our own happy community of fandom surrounding Raimi and Tapert.

I have an idea for an art trade coming up, probably mid- to late-summer, if people are interested in joining that. It requires commitment from members, though.

We will have more contests when time and member activity allows.

I am also playing with the idea of trying an art trade with an affiliate, both to spread the word of the individual groups, and perhaps get more members. This will give an opportunity for our  members to work with others and meet other dA members.
